Intervyooooooood

Newsarama's Sasquatch Week . . .

In anticipation of the Sasquatch anthology, Newsarama has been posting interviews with several of the book's creators. I was one of the lucky few who got to be interviewed by my boss, Jessie Garza, for the site. So go check it out. It's really short. :)

Late Sunday/ Monday Mania

Sasquatch! . . .

Josh Howard Presents Sasquatch is currently available in the Viper Shop, and it'll be hitting comic book stores this Wednesday! So make sure to pick up a copy and check out my 16-page story "Sasquatch and Timmy"! The book is packed with stories from 29 other creators, including two from Josh Howard! So check it out!

You'll Have That Soundtrack . . .

I was reading David Hopkins' blog the other day, and he mentioned Project Playlist. It's a social website where you make playlists of your favorite songs and users can listen to the jams via a streaming audio player on the website. It's really awesome, and it's just the thing I've been wanting to use for my comic strip!

Since this comic started I wanted to find a way to allow my readers to listen to music that I think sets the vibe for the strip. I've posted iTunes playlists in my blog before, but that meant you guys had to go and download all those songs. With Project Playlist you can just pull up the player, open the YHT archives in another browser window, and spend a few hours reading some YHT goodness while listening to some kicking jams!

So go check out the YHT Soundtrack. Leave some feedback in the message board. And keep checking the playlist periodically as I may add and remove tracks from the soundtrack.

I'll post the playlist in this blog entry one time only. If you need to check out the playlist later, just use the link on the right hand side of the screen under Community.

Fun With Movie Posters . . .

I got this cool idea to draw movie posters for YHT based on the DVD covers from some of my favorite movies. I cranked out the first one tonight and I thought I'd post it for you guys to see here. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with 'em. Maybe they'll make it into a book or something. Maybe I can use them for some guerilla marketing or something. Who knows. I'll think of something.

In the meantime, I'll just post 'em here just for fun.

The first poster is based on the DVD cover to The Family Man starring Nicolas Cage and Tea Leoni:

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I'm not sure if my poster makes as much sense as the Family Man poster, but it was still fun to draw. Let me know what you think!

Commissions . . .

I've decided to take the plunge and try something I've been wanting to do for quite some time. I'm going to take commissions. So if you'd like me to take a crack at drawing something for you, let me know. I'll charge fifty bucks (plus shipping) for pencilled and inked drawings on 9X12 Bristol Board. If you're wanting color or a larger size, we'll discuss the details and the price via e-mail.

So for the time being, a standard 9X12 inked drawing will cost you fifty bucks. You can e-mail me at wesmolebash@gmail.com if you have any questions.

. . . .

Has the weather been as awesome for you guys as it has been here in Ohio? I've already got sun on my cheeks from all the walks I've been taking the past couple days! I love spring!

Leave a note in the message board. We need to kick start that thing.

Sonic BOOM!

Today's Comic

Small Wonder Debuts . . .

The newest Viper webcomic, Small Wonder by Worth Gowell, has made it's debut here at the Viper site. Go check it out and bookmark it! It's quality stuff!

Sasquatch is Done . . .

My esteemed colleague, Justin Stewart, put the final touches on the colors for my Sasquatch story last night, and I have to say that the story looks great. Justin's colors really made my artwork look better, and I'm excited to hear what people have to say about the final product.

The only way you guys can see the whole 15-page story is by picking up the Sasquatch book when it hits stores in April! Go pre-order your copies now!

Diamond Order Code: FEB07-3830

Book Signings . . .

I'm cooking up some ideas for book signings this summer. Make sure to check the blog for updates.

Hadouken!

Today's Comic

Sasquatch . . .

My Sasquatch story is finally finished. The last few pages are being colored and lettered as we speak, as a wonderful feeling of relief washes over my body. To celebrate the "finishment" of the story, I'll post the first few pages of the story in the message boards for you guys to check out. Hopefully you guys will think it rocks hard.

For those of you who are wondering, Sasquatch is due in stores in April. There's still time to pre-order your books, so head over to your local comic shop and give them this order code: FEB07-3830. Go order it, suckas!

Bob the Squirrel . . .

The first of the new Viper webcomics has made its debut at the Viper website. Bob the Squirrel is written and drawn by the multi-talented Frank Page. Frank is a great guy and a model American. Go check out his comic and laugh until you puke.

Furniture . . .

My wife and I purchased a new couch, chair, and ottoman over the weekend from a local furniture store that is going out of business. When we went to pick up the furniture from the warehouse, we noticed an entertainment center that wasn't on the showroom floor. We both really like it, so we decided to ask the manager what kind of price the entertainment center carried. The manager told me he'd have to look at the piece, and he wouldn't be able to get to the warehouse (which is right across the street) until Wednesday.

It seems to me that if you have a customer who is interested in buying an expensive piece of furniture from your store, wouldn't it make sense to price the item as fast as possible for the customer? I'm sure the store is busy, but still . . .

Oh well. I'll spend all day Wednesday waiting by the phone with bated breath. :)

You'll Have That - The Returnering

Today's Comic

I'm Baaaaa-aaaaack! . . .

I'm proud to announce that we now return to regularly scheduled YHT!

I had a nice "vacation". The batteries are recharged, and I was able to get a nice chunk of my Sasquatch story finished. Still have several pages to finish up, so I'm gonna be busy for a few weeks. But that's okay. I've got a game plan. :)

Also, I've caught up on my writing for YHT, which was something that I fell behind on during the holidays. I've now got a comfortable 2 1/2 month buffer. Lots of good stuff in the bullpen until about April when I start to panic again.

So, to recap, vacation was good, Sasquatch is coming along nicely, and lots of YHT goodness planned over the next couple months.

Videgamey-ness . . .

So I bought Gears of War a few weeks ago. And then I signed up for XBox Live. This is what I gotta say about XBox Live - you people who are into the online gaming are ruthless. You are cutthroat vagabonds who have no regard for other, less skilled gamers (I'm not speaking of anyone in particular).

I played a game of NCAA Football 2007 against a guy/gal named "beanie07", or something like that. Anyway, beanie's LSU Tigers romped my Ohio State Buckeyes 64 to 8. Of course, that was the score at halftime. Luckily, "beanie" granted me "mercy" and allowed the game to end at the half, which, to my understanding, has no adverse affect on my "reputation" on XBox Live.

After my butt-kicking in college football, I decided to plug in Gears of War. I jumped into a co-op game, and, during gameplay, my partner fell into a pit of wretches (which are these horrible little beasts that, despite being easy to kill, attack in packs - which is terribly annoying). My partner wound up being knocked unconscious while I continued to look for a way out of the room above him. He yelled at me to come "heal" him, so I purposely fell through the floor into the pit of vile beasts in order to heal this guy who made the stupid mistake of falling into the pit in the first place! Long story short, we both ended up dying and the dude I was playing the game with told me he was done playing with me. Sorry, dude. Didn't mean to let you down.

Humorous Maximus . . .

YHT debuts at Humorous Maximus today. HM is a new comic website devoted to strips and gag-panels. Go check it out.

. . . .

I hope you guys have enjoyed all the guest strips and Lost Episodes over the past month. I appreciate your patience while I got everything back in order. 2007 is going to be an awesome year in YHT history.

News Updates

Today's Comic

YHT Vol. 2 Hits Stores! Several Injured! . . .

Volume 2 hits comics shops shelves today, and it's also in stock at Amazon.com! If you didn't pre-order the book from your comic shop, you can order it from Amazon now.

When you cats get your greedy hands on the new book, please let me know what you think of how it turned out. I think it's better than Vol. 1, but I'm biased. :)

YHT Is #5 Webcomic OF ALL TIMES! . . .

Stephen Schleicher at Major Spoilers clocked me in at #5 on his list of The Top 57 Webcomics. My little comic strip doesn't make a lot of waves in the webcomic world, so it's nice to not only be mentioned on a "best of" list, but also be ranked pretty high on said list. Thanks Stephen. :)

Anyway, go visit Stephen's list and leave comments telling him how smart he is in his webcomic selections.

Sasquatch Update . . .

Work on Sasquatch is going slower than I anticipated. Drawing a comic page takes a tad longer than drawing a comic strip. Plus, these characters are new to me so I have to keep going back to the reference drawings I made. Drawing Andy and Katie is easy. I can crap those guys out blindfolded. But my rendering of Sasquatch seems to be getting fatter from page to page. LOL

If you'd like to see a sampling of what my Sasquatch story will be, check out this forum thread for some sketches and the first page of the story.

. . . .

To all the Florida Gators out there, I wanna say, "Good job." You humiliated me Monday night. I'm back to normal today, though, so it's all good. :)

YHT Hiatus

Today's Comic

A Small Vacation . . .

It's a last minute decision, but I've decided to take a month-long break from YHT in order to work on some other projects. I've mentioned before that I'm writing and drawing a short, 16-page story for Viper's upcoming anthology Sasquatch. I'm excited to announce that YHT-reader and webcomicker Justin Stewart will be handling the coloring and lettering duties on the story. I'm really stoked about this project because it'll be the first time I've worked in a long-form comic book format.

The vacation from YHT will allow me to focus all my attention on my Sasquatch story, and get caught up with the writing on You'll Have That. Over the holidays, I fell way behind on my writing and I need to get back on track. 2007 is going to be an important year for my strip, and there will be a lot of landmark events that will affect the lives of Andy, Katie, Steve, and Emaline. I don't want to rush the writing on any of these events, so, by taking a small break, I can look at the outline I made for 2007 and get my ducks in a row for an exciting year in YHT!

During the break I will run Lost Episodes of YHT five days a week, I'll continue to blog and stay active on the message boards, and I'm gonna try to throw a last-minute guest week together. We'll see what happens. At any rate, new episodes of YHT will begin on Monday, February 5th.

Anyway, I appreciate all you guys' patience, and I promise to bring YHT back with a bang! If you have questions or comments, feel free to leave 'em in the blog, message board, or shoot me an e-mail.

In Other News . . .

I moved my studio from the spare bedroom to the basement. I've got a TV in my office now. :)

. . . .

You guys rule!
