*Sigh*
I've been reluctant to bring this up, but I can't stand it any longer. There's been a bunch of drama going down at my Litterbox site, and now a dude is trying to get me kicked out of the competition. He's even reported me to DC. If you like drama, and I know you do, go check out the comments section of Litterbox Chronicles.

Wes,
6:07 PMI can't see that DC would have a problem with what your doing. In fact if you are garnering more traffic for Zuda they are probably pleased although they may not official say so.
Try not to get worked up about it. My wife "mods" for several different websites and you wouldn't believe some of the stuff people say and do just to try to get some attention.
Oh, I'm not worried about it. It's just that the readers over at Zuda are a different breed, and I've never had to deal with a reader who was that spiteful. It's been quite a learning experience!
6:25 PM- Wes
Truthfully, I've seen worse comments on other websites, and though I'm sure this wasn't any less stressful, it's still something that you will have to get used to at one point.
9:53 PMThese are the type of things that come together in Hindsight, and I fully believe that whatever happens from this point on will be for the best...(whether you win the competition or not.) I'm sure you'll take the experience and use it to better yourself in the future.
Rooting for ya.
Just Don't feed the internet trolls.
Welcome to message boards run by DC (or a company under the DC umbrella). It seems to me, as a casual observer, that those boards attract more trolls and negative people than any others I've dealt with (except maybe Newsarama).
10:30 PMThe most I can say is take pride in your work and know that more people are digging it than hating on it.
I think what makes comments like those so shocking is that I spend most of my time in the "YHT Bubble". Everybody here is pretty polite. Even when I get negative feedback, people are really polite about it and it's easy not to take it personally.
10:55 PMThis is my first time getting "attacked" like that, and maverick is right - I gotta get used to it. It certainly won't be the last time I receive feedback like that.

You know, we're all nice and polite here because the comic attracts those types of people. You need to identify with the characters in a strip to an extent: i.e. I am very similar to Andy and would date/marry someone with Katie's personality.
12:30 AMYou've done an amazing job here, Wes. Honestly, I don't think YHT could replace staples in the Sunday paper (Cathy, Garfield, Peanuts). YHT SHOULD replace one of them. There's more freshness and vision here than many places. There's such a clean feel to the comic, both in the artwork and the stories. You are a master of subtleties and leaving the primary gag offstage where it serves you better! (i.e. Emaline's uh...show?...offstage) Hilarious.
So what if the attackers come! Just do what you've done: hold your head high, and don't get involved. You're great.
in the words of the might Charlie Brooker "There's no point debating anything online. You might as well hurl shoes in the air to knock clouds out of the sky."
1:20 AMif anyone listens to that guy i'll have to toss the part of my brain out the window to keep going
Hey long time listener, first time caller....anyway i was inspired to start my Webstrip from reading YHT...and while i work a little more "blue" than yourself Wes i admire you're skill and i think ANYONE who can build a readership as big as yours deserves to carry it around where ever. Hell of an acomplishment, and best of luck with Litterbox.
2:17 AMI can start being more of a dick to you, if it'll help
9:26 AMHey Wes, I think YHT rocks. I read it every day. Katie is just like my wife man - it's amazing! BTW, I followed the link over to Zuda and checked out the Litterbox Chronicles. Very cool stuff! You got my vote! :o)
9:48 AMThe only thing I can say is to ignore the trolls and keep right on creating cool comics! Later!
Hey Wes, I blogged about the competition and I hope that helps to drive a little traffic your way. It sucks that there is always someone who is a hater, but this guy has an unhealthy hate on for you. I really think it is Omar.
12:32 PMThis might sound odd, but I think Maledicta was giving himself and you more credit than makes sense. Himself because the rule he was citing basically just said "if Zuda thinks you're acting fraudulently, you're out", so by asserting that you're going to be in trouble for that he's claiming that he must be right and Zuda would have to agree.
4:17 PMGiving you more credit because he also seemed to be asserting that the fans you bring over from your comic here are all mindless sycophants who would just vote for your comic just because. I mean, no offense, I love your comic, but if I see something there that I like more, I'm going to vote for that instead, and, having read your comic for some time, I can't say I've felt any particular mind-controlling effects.
Keep up the good work, and ignore the trolls.
Wes, you're too nice to say this, but we're all thinking it... that guy's a cocksucker. You'll still come out on top, so don't lose any sleep over it, OK? He's just a guy. Rise above it.
6:02 PM- Ashley
Don't let that guy get you down. He's quite obviously a single, sad little troll who's upset because your comic doesn't fit his expectations.
1:21 AMThere's no way they would disqualify you: in fact, I'm surprised that they haven't banned him for his spamming of the board. He posted the exact same message at least three times... and he's making a large array of baseless accusations, trying to pump up his conspiracy theories.
In short, he's an extremely sad, petty man. Don't worry about him. He probably deserves our pity more than our concern, but (as most trolls are) his douchebaggery makes us feel inclined to withhold that pity.
Also, he's in blatent violation of the terms of service. I just pointed that out to him, and also reported it to DC.
1:40 AMHis accusation against you is baseless, because advertising and promoting is WHAT THE GAME IS ABOUT. It's not like you're making fake accounts or anything.
That'd be the only thing that COULD get you in trouble, but obviously no one's doing that (at least none of us... as would, at least, be evidenced by the fact that the Litterbox Chronicles is #2 now. If there was cheating, wouldn't we be #1 still? The accusation has absolutely no merit.)
My accusation against him is with obvious base, however, because his harassment is quite self evident.
I wouldn't worry about his nonsense.
The party was a "bust". Heh heh!
1:45 AMWes,
1:59 AMI'm not gonna repeat everything that everyone else has said, but seriously don't pay attention to him. He is jealous that you're way cooler than he is :) and have a way better comic. I will admit that I voted for TLC fairly quickly after getting on the zuda website, but thats only because I'd read the prelims in the forum, and my laptop HATES loading the zuda site. But since then, I've read through probably 6 of the other comics, and I can honestly say TLC is my favorite - though there are some cute ones :)
Keep it up. We're all pulling for you.
(Here and at Zuda, I'm trying to move past the Maldicta guy. I think the point's been made and the issue's over, no?)
12:31 PMAwesome artwork on today's strip Wes! Emaline looking back over the couch is drawn perfect... and your attention to minor details that fill in the background nicely, like that little receptical: awesome! It's a joy to read your work Wes. Thanks!
Wes, congratulations, you now are in the echelons of Ctrl Alt Del.

I can't believe you thought he was going to get you booted. Man, they even told everyone to plant banners of their favorites all over the internet to "get more people involved". I wonder who he was. It looked like a fake account, designed to obscure his identity.
