Sick as a Dog

Sorry for the lack of a comic strip today, but I'm sick as a dog. I started feeling the symptoms of a cold on Wednesday, and by Thursday those symptoms had elevated to a temperature of 103, body aches, and no energy whatsoever. I spent the entire day yesterday in bed. The only time I got up was to take a shower. I feel better today, but I'm still pretty exhausted and achy. I'm gonna try to get a comic posted, if not today then definitely by tomorrow.

Again, I'm really sorry. I appreciate all of your patience especially since we're in the middle of a clutch cargo storyline.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go lay on the couch for a while. :)

Wes,
Recover first, draw later. The harder you push yourself, the longer it's going to take to feel better. Take care of essential stuff, then get back to the fun stuff gradually. We'll wait. Having the flu is a b***h, not treating yourself right while having it can lead to pneumonia or worse - I speak from experience!
You could try my grandpa's remedy - mug of hot lemonade with a shot of booze in it, then sleep...

jeez wes...
or should I say SLACKER?!

:)

Nah. Feel better, dude. And for heaven's sake, if there is any chance of it being strep, get to the doctor and get on some meds. I don't generally recommend medication, but I had a friend whose strep progressed in to scarlet fever somehow.

So...rest up, drink some Emergen-C (good stuff. Tastes gross, but it works) and finish the comic whenever you can get around to it.

The lemonade with booze works. Serious.

When I was younger my father made me a concoction he called a "hot drink." At 8 years old, he never told me the ingredients. Now, at 22, I have come to know it is:

-tea, your favorite flavor
-2 tablespoons lemon juice
-a shot of whiskey, rum, brandy (b is best)
-a heaping heapful of honey (to coat your throat)
-a 1/2 tsp. of tabasco works wonders, but makes it hurt (cleans the sinuses)

Feel better Wes! Let me know how the drink works if you try it!

yeah my boyfriend makes the tea and whiskey drink whenever I'm sick. It's called a hot toddy. works ok for me, but it works wonders for him.

if nothing else it will provide the comforts of hot tea and a shot of whiskey :-)

i blame minnesota. those jealous twin citiyites dont have a local comic hero to call their own so they poisoned ours.

i say we annex minnesota to canada, thatll learn'em.

Erk, sounds like the flu my friend. I JUST got over that exact same stuff. Sleep as much as possible till you're better. Ok? And lots of fluids and maybe some advil or something to keep the fever down.

I thought it was consistent with life that in those moments of decision it seems that all of life hangs in the balance.
