Bollocks . . .

I've been watching a lot of BBC America, particularly Chef Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. I know a lot of people can't stand that guy, but I think he's awesome. He likes to say "bollocks" a lot, usually prefaced by the "F" word. So now I've been saying "bollocks" a lot, and I also used the word "nicked" in reference to someone stealing something. It's like I'm trying to pull a "Madonna" by changing my vocabulary and dialect and stuff! Well, maybe not that bad . . .

Mahatma Steve

This is Steve's new look. Like it or not, you'll have to deal with it. I was sick of drawing the hoodie and the Smurf hat.

I really liked the background art in today's strip, and I was disappointed because a lot of it ended up being covered up by the foreground art and word balloons. So I saved the background art by itself and uploaded it to my flickr account. I'm gonna start saving all my favorite backgrounds so you guys can check 'em out on flickr.

Books . . .

I just got back from the Post Office where I dropped off FIFTY-ONE books to be shipped to several YHT readers! Needless to say, the stack of books I had as a trial run for the book sale is very nearly depleted, and the orders are still coming in! I talked to Jessie Garza at Viper, though, and we've got more books being sent my way. No worries.

Just a reminder that the YHT Book Bundle (Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and the 32-page comic book) will be on sale for $10 with NO SHIPPING until May 30! So make sure you get your orders in to avoid those pesky shipping charges which will be rearing their ugly heads in June! Yuck!

This is a picture of me at a signing in New Hampshire. Both YHT Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 are 64-pages and perfect bound. Vol. 1 has a glossy cover and Vol. 2 has a matte cover.

Here's a picture of the 32-page one-shot comic book with the Limited Edition cover. The one-shot is a very sharp book! The front and back are a heavy, durable stock, and the interior pages are nice and glossy! The regular (or standard) cover was drawn by Scott Kurtz.

Here's a close-up of all 3 books together. My wife put these little bundles together at a convention we attended last year around Christmas-time.

Monday Tidbits

eBay . . .

Thanks to everyone who bid on the Katie drawings this week! The extra money is gonna go a long way in helping me buy some art supplies, many of which I'm running quite low on!

If you didn't get to win a piece of art this month, don't worry. I'm gonna try to auction off some artwork every month on eBay. I've got a drawer full of art I've accumulated over the past three-plus years, and it's begging to be cleaned out! So keep your eyes peeled!

To the winners of the Katie drawings, I'll have your artwork in the mail by Thursday at the very latest. I've gotta work overtime at the day job for the next couple of days, and that makes it hard to get to the Post Office. Once the items ship, it'll only take 2 or 3 days to get to you! Boxcar News . . .

Some cool stuff is going down over at Boxcar Comics. First of all, my Boxcar cronies and I have been drawing jam comics, and the first Boxcar Jam Session is available to look at now. We're currently working on the second jam comic which should be published very soon.

Also, we've started a podcast called the Boxcar Comics Hobo Jamboree. It'll be a monthly podcast where we discuss cartooning and comics, and the first episode is available now. I wasn't able to be a part of this episode, but I'll be on future episodes fo' sho.
